XJ9, more commonly (and wants to be) known as Jenny Wakeman, is the main protagonist of My Life As A Teenage Robot.
Background[edit | edit source]
Season 2 Episode 11 at 11:38.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Jenny is a stark contrast to Hilda. While Hilda deals little damage and knockback, she is capable of creating insane combos thanks to their relatively low startup and end lag, as well as her speed in the air. On the other hand, Jenny hits very hard and is capable of KOing relatively early, however she relies less on combos and have significantly laggier moves. These differences are also apparent in their defense game, as Hilda's floatiness and small size allows her to escape combos, while Jenny's large hitboxes and fast-falling attributes makes her combo food. Nonetheless, Jenny is a very capable fighter and unprepared opponents may see them lose the game extremely early.
Aesthetics[edit | edit source]
- Jenny's appearance really hasn't gone through much, so it's her appearance she has had since the first season.
Attributes[edit | edit source]
- Jenny has above average speed in most areas, including her initial dash, dash, and walk speed.
- Jenny's air acceleration is average, and both her air and fall speed are among the worst in the game, making her a fast faller.
- Since she's literally a steel robot, she's one of the heaviest characters in the game.
Moveset[edit | edit source]
Name | Damage | Description | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
Neutral attack | Fists of Fury | 3% | A right, then left punch. The second punch is capable of KOing at the edge of the stage at around 120%, however, the opponent can DI out of the second punch at high percents making it a situational KO move. | |
5% | ||||
Forward tilt | Mass Hammer | 10% | Changes her right hand into a hammer and swings it. Knocks the opponent upwards, making it a useful KO option on platforms, however it's high endlag makes it useless for combos, and its high startup lag makes it a risky move overall. | |
Up tilt | Open Shield | 7% (opening frames), 4% (opened umbrella) | Opens an umbrella over her head. The initial frames of the umbrella opening deals the most damage and can oddly KO starting at around 105%. The umbrella itself deals less damage but is used as a combo extender. | |
Down tilt | 7% | Slides forward, acting as a pseudo-crawl. The hit sends the opponent sideways, allowing for follow-ups at low percents. | ||
Dash attack | 2.2% (hits 1-5) | Sticks her foot forward and grinds into the opponent using roller skates. The dash attack deals absurd amounts of damage but could be DI'd out of. | ||
Forward smash | Mighty Hammers | 18% (uncharged), 18% (charged) | Transforms her hands into hammers and smashes forward. Although it has very high startup and endlag and a somewhat small hitbox, it is one of the strongest forward smashes in the game, capable of KOing starting at 60%. | |
Up smash | Rocket Power. | 5% (initial hit), 15% (uncharged), 25% (charged) | Transforms her hands into rockets and explodes them above her. It deals the least knockback out of all the smash attacks but can still KO at around 120%. Has a very narrow vertical hitbox, but has very little startup and endlag. | |
Down smash | Monkey Paws. | 15% (uncharged), 25% (charged) | Enlarges her arms and smashes down around her. It sends the opponent sideways and can KO starting at 100% around her hands and around 140% on her arms. | |
Neutral aerial | Shiva Swords | 2% (hits 1-6) | Unsheathes 6 swords and rotates them around her. Although it is incapable of KOing, it can combo into itself at low percents and into up air at mid percents. | |
Forward aerial | Thunder Fist | 13% (initial hit, sweetspot), 5% (initial hit, sourspot), 5% (downward hit) | Transforms her hand into a spike ball, punches forwards, then drags it downward. The initial hit is capable of KOing at around 90% on the spike ball, but the arm hitbot is incapable of KOing and is easier to hit than the sweetspot. The downward hit deals significantly less damage and knockback but has a semi-spike with set knockback. | |
Back aerial | Electro Claw | 13% | Swipes backward with electric claws. It has high startup lag but is capable of KOing starting at 115%. | |
Up aerial | 2.5% (hits 1-5) | Transforms her hair into a drill and drills upward. The final hit is capable of KOing starting at 100% and is her most reliable KO aerial. | ||
Down aerial | 2% (hits 1-5) | Similar to her up air, but drills downward instead. A stall-then-fall move, it is capable of dragging the opponent downard, allowing it to gimp weak recoveries. | ||
Grab | Stretchy Arms | — | Reaches forward with her arms and grabs the opponent. Being a tether grab, it reaches far but has high ending lag. | |
Pummel | 2% | Squeezes the opponent. The slowest pummel in the game, but also the most damaging. | ||
Forward throw | 12% | Shoots the opponent forward out of her arm. Generally used to send opponents off-stage. | ||
Back throw | 12% | Same as forward throw, but shoots the opponent backwards. Capable of KOing starting at 125%. | ||
Up throw | Crossbow | 12% (throw), 5% (arrow) | Shoots the opponent upward with an arrow. The arrow will keep traveling upward and deals minor knockback and damage. Otherwise, it is used to start combos at early percents. | |
Down throw | Razor Blades | 2% (hits 1-4), 6% (final hit) | Throws the opponent downward and drills down using razor blades. Mostly used to rack up damage, as it deals the most damage out of all her throws. | |
Floor attack (front) | 5% | Swings her feet around her. | ||
Floor attack (back) | 5% | Swings her feet around her. | ||
Floor attack (trip) | 5% | Swings her feet around her. | ||
Edge attack (fast) | 5% | Swings her feet in front of her. | ||
Edge attack (slow) | 5% | Swings her feet in front of her. | ||
Neutral special | Energy Beam | 3% (hair beam), 10% (hand beam), 20% (chest beam) | Fires a beam out of one of three body parts. The beam slowly recharges after being fired, and depending on how long it has been charged, it will fire out a beam from either her hair, hand, or chest, with the hair beam dealing the least knockback and damage, and the chest beam dealing the most damage and knockback. | |
Side special | Laser Beam | 6% (0-1 seconds), 12% (2-4 seconds), 24% (5+ seconds) | Fires a beam in front of her. It travels at a medium speed and deals more damage and knockback the farther it travels. The beam has a large hitbox, making it easier to hit people. | |
Up special | Hair Boosters | — | Flies upward using rocket boosters in her hair. Has great vertical distance and average horizontal distance. A very fast recovery as well, making it hard to hit. | |
Down special | Power Down | — | Jenny powers down for approximately 15 seconds, charging up Energy Beam. In doing so, she cannot move or attack, but can withstand approximately 40% of damage and cannot be grabbed. However, if she is interrupted by dealing enough damage, she would lose her progress and Energy Beam's power will reset. Anytime within the 15 seconds, inputting the B-button again will allow Jenny to reboot, saving the progress of her charge-up. Jenny also heals 2% per second, for a maximum of 30%. | |
Final smash | Ultimate Energy Beam | 60% | Flies towards the side of the stage and magnifies a laser beam that shoots across the stage. Anyone in the beam's path will instantly be knocked away. It deals insane amounts of damage and can KO naturally starting at 60%, making it almost a one hit KO without factoring in DI. |

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Jenny's voice actor also voices many other characters, including Ami Onuki in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Asami "Sam" Koizumi/Samurai in Young Justice, and Lysithea from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
- Despite this, Hilda is still the best girl from Three Houses come fight me.
- That is not the reason why I made Jenny the complete opposite of Hilda, it was coincidental.
